In a new interview, Sarah Paulson has revealed she is currently unsure whether season two of Ratched.
The Netflix series, which debuted in September 2020, is a prequel to One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. It is set in 1947 and follows the story of Nurse Mildred Ratched as she becomes an evil nurse. Paulson stars in the lead role as Jackie but has been left out of the loop about whether the programme will return.
The final episode of the series ended on a cliffhanger where Mildred’s brother, Edmund Tolleson, rings up her and her lover Gwendolyn, but she then says she’d kill him first. Fans have been waiting for closure, however, it doesn’t seem like we’ll be getting closure anytime soon.
Speaking to Variety, Paulson has said she doesn’t know whether a second season will come to fruition, and she is currently keeping her options open regarding her next role.
However, she tells Variety she doesn’t know if a second season is in the works or not. The actor told the publication about her current plans: “What I’m looking for is new. I’m looking for new experiences and looking to collaborate in new ways with young filmmakers. I’m interested in this idea of being the old lady on the set.”
