Sandra Bullock film tops Netflix charts for the second time

Sandra Bullock is Netflix’s one-true hero. This Academy Award-winning actress has always been appreciated for her brilliant acting skills and, with numerous different projects of the highest order, has cemented her status as one of Netflix’s reigning chart-toppers.

Her new film, The Unforgivable, has topped Netflix charts comprising the ‘Top 10 Most Popular’ film list. This is Bullock’s second film to have attained this status after her 2018 effort, Bird Box, remained the unchallenged champion for three long years.

According to Netflix data, the film has been viewed for approximately 186.9 million hours since its release.

Sandra Bullock’s status as one of the top performers in Netflix is only rivalled by that of Ryan Reynolds who had both his films Red Notice and 6 Underground in the top ten.

Based on a 2009 British limited series Unforgiven, written by Sally Wainwright, the film has been helmed by German filmmaker Nora Fingscheidt, best known for the 2019 film System Crasher.

Starring Bullock as the protagonist, Ruth Slater, who has spent 20 years in prison for killing a sheriff, the film is a meaty thriller with a lot of twists and turns and a nerve-wracking climax.

After Slater is released from prison after nearly two decades, she tries to get in touch with her younger sister, Katie, who was sent to a foster home. However, tainted by her past, she learns that people are not very forgiving and soon Slater is faced with various kinds of violence from revengeful sons and unanticipated kidnappings as well as the surfacing of dark secrets that can change the course of all events.

Besides Bullock, the supporting ensemble includes Aisling Franciosi, Viola Davis, Jon Bernthal and Vincent D’Onofrio.

Bullock will be seen yet again in a romantic adventure comedy titled The Lost City in 2022 alongside Channing Tatum as well as alongside Bad Bunny and Brad Pitt in Bullet Train
