Ryan Murphy to create and produce American Story spin-offs

Having garnered praise and acclaim for his series, including Netflix’s Ratched and the American Horror Story, American Crime Story franchise, Ryan Murphy is set to expand the American Story family by producing two brand new spin-off series.

Both American Horror Story and American Crime Story are set to stream soon and the news regarding the spin-offs is just a cherry on top. Set in a similar limited series format, the two spin-offs will once again be a set of anthology shows.

It has been reported that the first season of American Sports Story will focus on the life, career and death of Aaron Hernandez, the former NFL player-turned-convict who was alleged for the homicide of Odin Lloyd in 2015. Imprisoned, Hernandez committed suicide in 2017, and the series shall derive inspiration from the popular podcast Gladiator: Aaron Hernandez and Football Inc.

The second series American Love Story will examine the relationship of John F. Kennedy and Carolyn Bessette before they succumbed to the 1999 plane crash. However, the release dates for both projects have not yet been revealed.

On 7th September 2021, the third season of American Crime Story (Impeachment) is set to premiere on FX. It will focus on the infamous Monica Lewinsky-Bill Clinton scandal, succeeding the preceding two seasons that dealt with the highly controversial murder trial of O.J. Simpson for allegedly murdering his wife as well as the notorious murder of Gianni Versace, the acclaimed fashion designer. The trailer, starring Bernia Feldstein, was released last week.

The 10th season of American Horror Story (Double Feature) is set to premiere on FX on 25th August 2021. Reprising long-time cast members like Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters, the series is set to star Macaulay Culkin, Adina Porter, Leslie Grossman, Lily Rabe and Billie Lourd among others.
