'Roseanne' spinoff 'The Conners' scheduled for Netflix arrival

Netflix has secured the rights to stream The Conners, the widely-adored spinoff of the iconic sitcom Roseanne

With its sixth season currently underway on ABC, the first five seasons of The Conners are set to debut on Netflix starting March 27th. This move marks the exclusive availability of the earlier seasons on Netflix, as only season six is currently streaming on Hulu.

While the duration of the series’ stay on Netflix remains uncertain, there’s speculation that Season 6 will eventually join the streaming platform once it finishes its run on ABC later this year.

Originally launched in 2018, The Conners arose following the cancellation of Roseanne due to controversial remarks by its star, Roseanne Barr. Now in its sixth season, The Conners continues to draw impressive viewing figures on ABC.

Created by Matt Williams, The Conners boasts an ensemble cast including John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Sara Gilbert, Lecy Goranson, Michael Fishman, Emma Kenney, Ames McNamara, Jayden Rey, Maya Lynne Robinson, and Jay R. Ferguson. However, Fishman and Robinson have now left the series, with Rey following suit ahead of season six.

Sara Gilbert also serves as an executive producer on the show alongside Tom Werner, Tony Hernandez, Dave Caplan, Bruce Rasmussen, and Bruce Helford.

Goodman previously suggested that The Conners could be nearing the end of its run. However, nothing is confirmed at present; with a successful launch on Netflix, further seasons could be in store.

Elsewhere, the cancelled Fox medical drama The Resident is set to arrive on Netflix in March. Also arriving next month are Young Royals, and three seasons of Girls5eva.
