Rome looks good on Emily in the first five minutes of ‘Emily in Paris’ season 5
Netflix pulled the curtains on Emily in Paris season four with Emily Cooper in Rome. She took a break from the Parisian way of life, swapping it for the picturesque view of Rome with Italian businessman and beau Marcello.
So, when season five kicks off on December 18th, we will catch Cooper saying “Buongiorno!” to those landscapes yet again.
But just in case you were craving for an early sneak peek, Netflix recently shared the first five minutes of Emily in Paris season five, and you cannot miss this.
The fifth season of Emily in Paris, or Rome, shall we say, begins with quite a view: a shirtless Marcello hugging Emily as she looks out at the city. While Marcello begs Emily to stay back until lunch, the fact that it’s the first day of her running the Rome office of Agence Grateau, and she’s yet to prepare for the meeting with his mother, prompts her to head towards work.
As Marcello offers to drop her, Emily, in her usual can-do attitude, assures him she’d take the bus. Meanwhile, we spot Sylvie over breakfast with her lover in Rome, lamenting the idea of returning to Paris because “one account in Rome isn’t enough” to keep her there.
But just when she swings to take a sip of the coffee, the name on the cup reminds her of reconnecting with an old client, espresso seller Bavazza. Recalling that she’s based in Rome, Sylvie calls the only person whose closeness to Bavazza goes beyond business, Luc.
In this chapter, another person from Agence Grateau is also smitten, Julien, who’s making the Roman trip one to remember with a few souvenirs from quite a charming date of his own.
On other news, Mindy has officially declined a contract to be a judge on a Shanghai TV show, Popstar, and she’s on her way back to Paris. As for whether Emily manages to reach work on time? Well, it looks like the Roman way of life is growing on her.
For those curious about the rest of the gang, including Gabriel, Alfie, Nico, and series newcomers, Emily in Paris returns on Netflix this Thursday to answer all your questions. But if the first five minutes taught us one thing, it is that Sylvie means business in Rome. So, you all should be here for the drama.
