Rescheduled Mike Tyson and Jake Paul fight gets new date

Despite the mismatch in age and legacy, the Mike Tyson and Jake Paul fight is one of boxing’s most highly anticipated bouts. Sadly, as the hype for the former YouTube star meeting the former Heavyweight Champion of the World grew, Tyson was forced to pull out of the scheduled date.

The duo were set to touch gloves on July 20th, but the 57-year-old Tyson was forced to change the dates following medical advice concerning an ulcer issue. The rescheduled fight will now take place on Netflix on November 15th.

Ireland’s Katie Taylor will fight Amanda Serrano on the same card at the Texas event. Taking place at Arlington’s AT&T arena, the event is set to be a blockbuster boxing occasion.

The July event was postponed following health advice dished out to the former undisputed champion. Tyson was diagnosed with an ulcer condition, which took him out of his rigorous training regime after reportedly falling ill on a flight between Miami and Los Angeles.

The 80,000 ticket holders for the original event have been assured that their tickets will be valid for the newly scheduled date.

Most Valuable Promotions said in a statement: “The highly anticipated heavyweight fight between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson and the most anticipated rematch in women’s boxing history, Katie Taylor v Amanda Serrano, is rescheduled for Friday, November 15 2024, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.”

While trying to pick a favourite between the two wildly different fighters remains elusive, audiences can rest assured that they will be given ample time to get up to scratch.
