Rebel Wilson is channelling her inner Britney Spears for her upcoming Netflix film Senior Year…and we are loving it!
The upcoming Netflix film shall release in 2022 and Wilson is producing alongside Chris Bender and Todd Garner. The film is about Wilson who shall star as a cheerleader, trying to go back to the golden days of high school after waking up from a 20-year-long coma.
Paying tribute to the pop icon, Wilson posted a picture of herself on Instagram, dressed like Spears from her 1999 hit single ‘(You Drive Me) Crazy’.
Sporting a long and wavy beach blonde mane, Wilson is clad in a similar green top like that of Speas and can be seen staring off into the distance. A neon sign behind her says “Crazy” and the 41-year-old actress captioned the post with a simple ode to Britney where she says, “My life is CRAZY right now” and also proclaim her love for Britney.
Wilson teased fans by saying that Britney fans “might have worked out what we’re doing” which is indeed quite intriguing!
Last week, Wilson’s TikTok video showed the same music video being the inspiration for one such movie scene. On her IGTV, Wilson gives a sneak peek into the last day of shooting Senior Year.
Wilson, who recently lost a remarkable amount of weight owing to fertility issues, was last seen in Bridesmaids. She spoke of how she was “thinking of a future mini-me” while focusing on getting in shape.
While we eagerly wait for the film to arrive in 2022, we hope Wilson goes on to say: “It’s Britney, bitch” at least once. Is it really too much to ask for?
