Paul Feig casts Cate Blanchett as the narrator in the new Netflix film

Cate Blanchett has joined the star-studded ensemble cast of the upcoming Paul Feig fantasy film on Netflix, titled The School for Good and Evil.

During the Los Angeles sixth Annual Women in Entertainment Summit, the filmmaker informed the crowd about the same, talking about how Blanchett would serve as the narrator for the series which already stars Charlize Theron, Kerry Washington and Michelle Yeoh among others.

Talking about how “excited” the entire team is to have Blanchett on board, Feig said, “It hasn’t actually been announced yet — it’s out there.”

Based on Soman Chainani’s New York Times bestselling fantasy hexalogy book series, this highly-anticipated live-action film will focus on the various adventures of best friends, Agatha and Sophie, who attend the magical institution of School for Good and Evil where they receive training to become future fairy-tale heroes or villains.

In the newly released teaser, Theron and Washington dazzle in their respective influential matriarchal roles. The rest of the cast includes Sophia Anne Caruso, Sofia Wylie, Kit Young, Laurence Fishburne and Ben Kingsley among others.

The School for Good and Evil is scheduled for a late-2022 premiere.
