Netflix series 'Outer Banks' is renewed for a second season

For many, the first season of Outer Banks was a virtual lockdown adventure holiday, albeit by the end of the series, not one you’d want to find yourself in at any cost, regardless of the $400million treasure trove up for grabs.

If there was any doubt about with the stricken protagonists had succumbed to a grisly end when their boat capsized, the success of the series ensured that they would rise from the depths and as the trailer suggests, seemingly find another boat.

John B. and Sarah it would appear are now headed for the Bahamas in what promises to be an instalment that makes you jealous of the sun, sea and sand on display once more.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly back in 2020, the show’s creator, Jonas Pete, remarked: “There will definitely be some new mysteries and some new ideas. It all comes off the same spine of the same story but it branches out in ways that hopefully the audience won’t see coming,” Pate said.

Adding, “We’ll definitely have at least a part of Season 2 that’ll take place in the Bahamas.”

It has also been confirmed that the cast of season one will also be returning for the highly-anticipated follow-up, with hints that there could be as many as four seasons for them to star in.

The series is set to return on July 30th, 2021, offering up ten hour-long episodes. You can catch the latest trailer below.
