‘One Day’ stars pick their favourite lines from the Netflix series

There’s a new romantic sensation heating up the Netflix screens everywhere. Released just in time for Valentine’s week, One Day, starring Ambika Mod and Leo Woodall, has been sweeping audiences off their feet and climbing the ranks of Netflix’s top ten series charts globally.

Based on David Nicholls’ novel, the show follows Mod’s Emma and Woodall’s Dexter, who share a transformative night after graduation. As they embark on separate paths, their lives intersect over the years, showcasing the complexities of friendship, love, and destiny.

Led by a talented team including Nicole Taylor, Anna Jordan, Vinay Patel, and Bijan Sheibani, the series navigates the highs and lows of life with heartwrenching precision.

In an exclusive chat with Hits Radio, Mod and Woodall opened up about their first impressions of each other, their love for romantic films, and more. Woodall revealed a penchant for classics like Notting Hill and Love Actually, citing his adoration for all things Richard Curtis. Meanwhile, Mod confessed she would have loved to be in About Time and La La Land.

Speaking about their favourite lines from One Day, Mod couldn’t help but gush over Emma’s speech at Tilly’s wedding, a moment where the series beautifully melds together elements from literary giants like Larkin, Great Expectations, and Tess of the d’Urbervilles. She applauded the writers’ ingenuity in crafting a speech that brims with so much heart and levity.

Woodall, on the other hand, reminisced about a touching exchange between Emma and Dexter. His favorite line? When Emma quips, “I thought I finally got rid of you,” only to be met with Dexter’s flirty, “I don’t think you can.” Woodall mentioned how he found this moment particularly sweet.

So, as you cosy up with your loved one this weekend, why not indulge in the romantic escapades of One Day and other cinematic escapades like it?
