‘Nonnas’ soundtrack: Every song featured in the Netflix comedy
Netflix’s newly released film, Nonnas, is catching a lot of eyes with its perfect blend of love, family, and food. The film revolves around a man who starts a restaurant where all the food is cooked by Nonnas. It stars Vince Vaughn, Susan Sarandon, Lorraine Bracco, Talia Shire, Linda Carellini and Joe Manganiello.
The soundtrack brings the heartwarming story to life. It is an amalgamation of Italian classics and American contemporary music. The music complements the wholesome narrative with music that reflects the American-Italian perspective of the film.
The film’s director, Stephen Chbosky, shared with Netflix that the music has been curated with immense passion. The songs were chosen after a lot of consideration, where the intent was to create a timeless energy. The characters of the film, especially the Nonnas, and what they grew up with, drove the curation process.
Brazilian film composer Marcelo Zarvos is responsible for the well-thought-out music curation. He has worked previously with Netflix in May December. Zarvos is especially known for his work in Ray Donovan and Good American Family.
A special highlight of the soundtrack is an original song, ‘Hyatt Street’. Director Stephen Chbosky wrote the song and produced it with Thomas Lauderdale. The classical band Pink Martini, American singer China Forbes, come together with arrangements by Sugaroo for the song.
