Noah Baumbach's new Netflix movie to star George Clooney and Adam Sandler

Adam Sandler and George Clooney are set to lead the cast in Noah Baumbach’s upcoming movie for Netflix.

The project, which would mark Clooney and Sandler’s first collaboration, is still untitled at this stage but the script was co-written by Baumbach with Emily Mortimer. Amy Pascal and David Heyman will co-produce the film alongside the director. The upcoming movie marks the latest collaboration between Baumbach and the streaming giant following The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected), Marriage Story and White Noise.

Baumbach’s most recent project was co-writing Barbie, the highest grossing film of 2023, which was directed by his wife Greta Gerwig.

Sandler has previously worked extensively with Netflix. In 2023 alone, the former Saturday Night Live star has starred in Murder Mystery 2 and You Are So Not Invited To My Bat Mitzvah, which are both available to watch on the platform.

Meanwhile, Clooney has directed The Boys In The Boat, starring Joel Edgerton and Calum Turner, set to arrive in cinemas on December 25th. He’s also set to reunite with Brad Pitt in Wolfs, which will stream on Apple next year.

Additionally, Clooney recently revealed plans for another Ocean’s movie but has kept hush about whether the film would be Oceans 14.

While a prequel starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling is currently in development, in a new interview, Clooney discussed a separate film set in the same Ocean’s universe which would reunite the original cast. “We have a really good script for another Oceans now, so we may end up doing another one. It’s actually a great script,” he revealed.

When asked if it would be Ocean’s 14, Clooney kept his cards close to his chest, responding: “Well … I don’t want to call it that… I mean, the idea is kind of like Going In Style.”
