Netflix’s ‘Queer Eye’ To End With Season 10
In a culture of instant gratification, Netflix took a calculated risk by stretching Queer Eye for nine seasons amounting to 81 episodes. And so far, they have fared well. But since all good things come to an end, Queer Eye’s curtain call is inevitable. At the heart of the story is the Fab Five, whose sole mission in life is to uplift those struggling in various aspects.
But according to Deadline’s exclusive new report, Queer Eye is coming to a close with a tenth season. Netflix’s longest-running unscripted series has reportedly been renewed for a tenth instalment. And as per the streaming giant, production has already begun. By the end of the finale season, Queer Eye will have around 90 episodes aired, meaning the upcoming instalment is expected to have nine episodes, if not more.
The Fab Five have chosen Washington, DC, as their final destination to search for a new group of individuals in need of a watershed moment. For those uninitiated, the Fab Five includes Karamo Brown, the relationship expert, Tan France, the fashion specialist, Van Ness, the hair and makeup expert, and Antoni Porowski, the hair and makeup specialist.
Bobby Berk served as the interior design expert for eight seasons. However, for the last two seasons, Jeremiah Brent has taken on the role. Queer Eye has showcased an incredible footprint across the US. The first two seasons were shot in Georgia, while the next two were in Kansas, Missouri, and Illinois.
Queer Eye’s fifth season was filmed in Pennsylvania and season six in Austin, Texas, and nearby regions. Meanwhile, the seventh and eighth seasons were documented in New Orleans. And the ninth? The Fab Five touched down in Las Vegas. In fact, fans were treated with quite a few specials, which include a four-part series shot in Tokyo. All in all, the show has traversed nine states and three countries.
The show was nominated a whopping 37 times for Primetime Emmys. It won six consecutive times for ‘Outstanding Structured Reality Program.’ However, Shark Tank had the upper hand last year. Besides these, Queer Eye has won a number of Critics Choice Real TV Awards alongside a GLAAD Media Award for ‘Outstanding Reality Program.’
As of now, there’s no word on the release date. However, now that Queer Eye is officially in production, fans can expect Netflix to follow up with more updates like they always do. So, Washingtonians, be ready.
