Netflix's 'Feel Good' announces season 2 and shares new trailer

The latest series of Mae Martin’s incredible series Feel Good has been announced by Netflix with a brand new trailer to get us all excited too.

The romantic comedy sees Martin take on the role of Mae in the show as they fall in love with George. The show originally premiered on Channel4 at the start of 2020 but has made the leap to Netflix permanent.

The official synopsis for the second season of Feel Good offers an exciting reprisal of our favourite characters: “Mae & George’s complicated love story continues as Mae struggles to come to terms with the ghosts from her past and George tries to reinvent her present. Can they grow together, or will they grow apart?”

The ghosts from Mae’s past are centred on them going to rehab and dealing with childhood trauma while George finds herself a new love interest, pleading with Mae not to “self-destruct”.

It’s a simple tale, on the face of it, but then great love stories always are. The real beauty of Feel Good is that it feels more appropriate than ever in its simplicity. Of course, there are some non-traditional elements to the series, but there is a tale as old as time at the centre of the storyline.

When you take the “will they, won’t they” out of the narrative, you still have a deeply textured and wonderfully funny look at modern life, using the quasi-autobiographical tone of the show as the perfect balancing act to some of its more ludicrous moments.

Will Mae and George find love in each other once more? We’ll have to wait to find out.
