Netflix unveils line-up for comedy festival 'Netflix Is A Joke'

Netflix have announced a star-studded line-up for the 2024 edition of their Netflix Is A Joke festival, which is set to star Kevin Hart, John Mulvaney and David Letterman.

The comedy event is returning to Los Angeles in the spring, with the streaming platform taking over 35 venues across the city. In total, there will be more than 300 shows taking place in the showbiz capital courtesy of a selection of the biggest names in the stand-up industry.

“This a special time for comedy, both for Netflix and the genre at large,” Robbie Praw, Netflix VP of Stand-up and Comedy Formats, said in a statement. “We have the privilege of working with comedians who are selling out arenas, winning awards, and building fandoms in the millions,” he added.

Praw continued: “In the 10 years that we’ve been doing stand-up, we’ve seen the art form reach levels we didn’t think possible. This festival aims to capture this moment by bringing together the world’s best comedians for an unforgettable 11 days.”

Tom Brady, Chris Rock, Ali Wong, Jerry Seinfeld, Seth Rogen, Chelsea Handler will also be appearing at the festival.

There will also be sets from names such as Anthony Jeselnik, Bill Burr, Cedric the Entertainer, Daniel Tosh, Dane Cook, Demetri Martin, Deon Cole, Fortune Feimster, Jon Stewart, Jim Gaffigan, Katt Williams, Kumail Nanjiani, Leslie Jones, Mark Normand, Matteo Lane, Matt Rife, Maya Rudolph, Mike Birbiglia, Nate Bargatze, Nick Kroll, Patton Oswalt, Sebastian Maniscalco, Shane Gillis, Stavros Halkias, Tim Dillon, Tim Robinson, Tom Papa, Wanda Sykes, and many more.

Netflix promise to announce even more names in the New Year. The comedy event is set to run from May 2nd until May 12th. Venues include The Hollywood Bowl, The Forum, The Greek Theatre, The Dolby, The Wiltern and the Hollywood Palladium.
