Netflix unveils intense teaser for original K-drama ‘D.P.’ season two

Netflix has just given fans their first glimpse into the second season of the hit K-drama series D.P. (Deserter Pursuit)

The streaming giant unveiled an intense teaser clip today, announcing that the new season will premiere on July 28th, almost two years after the show’s debut in August 2021.

D.P. follows the story of soldier An Jun-ho, portrayed by Jung Hae-in, who is transferred to the Deserter Pursuit faction of the military. Assigned with capturing deserters, Jun-ho finds himself under the guidance and care of Sergeant Park Beom-gu (Kim Sung-kyun) and Corporal Han Ho-yeol (Koo Kyo-hwan).

The entire main cast, including Son Suk-ku as Captain Im Ji-sup, will reprise their roles in the upcoming season of D.P. Additionally, the series will introduce Ji Jin-hee (Designated Survivor: 60 Days) and Kim Ji-hyun (Thirty-Nine) as new additions to the talented ensemble.

The teaser clip begins with a soldier being bullied by his fellow bunkmates. Later, he returns to the bunk and opens fire on them, setting the stage for intense and gripping storytelling. Jun-ho’s voiceover states, “What’s our mission? To bring them back, safe and sound,” as the teaser transitions into a thrilling montage of explosions, chase scenes, and intense fight sequences. The title card appears, with the words, “Nothing will change unless we do something.”

Actor Jung Hae-in expressed his excitement about the upcoming season, describing it as a continuation of the first season while promising a more intricate and immersive storyline. He stated, “There are still unfinished stories and parts to be resolved, so you will be able to see a denser and deeper story.”

Netflix first hinted at the return of D.P. during its TUDUM event on June 17th. The series was featured in a video highlighting the upcoming K-content on the streaming platform, alongside eight other highly anticipated K-dramas.
