Netflix shares new trailer for Mike Flanagan’s terrifying ‘The Midnight Club’

It’s the sort of trailer that ought to be banned from YouTube adverts after dark. Mike Flanagan is back with a new horror series titled The Midnight Club and it looks to be as perturbing as ever.

The series comes with the following synopsis: “A group of terminally ill teenage patients resides at Brightcliffe Hospice, and together they create the Midnight Club. They meet in secret at midnight to tell horror stories. Together the group forms a pact, that whoever dies first would make the effort to contact the rest of the Midnight Club members from beyond the grave.”

Based on a novel of the same name by Christopher Pike, Flanagan’s adaptation stars a rotating cast of Samantha Sloyan, Zach Gilford, Igby Rigney, Annarah Cymone, Ruth Codd, Aya Furukawa and more.

The adaptation comes from Flanagan’s old The Haunting of Bly Manor partner Leah Fong, so more luscious traditional ghost story thrills and spills can be expected from the spooky script.

With The Haunting of Hill House and Midnight Mass also already to his name, Flanagan has become Netflix’s go-to horror hero thanks to a string of successful creations heralded by fans and critics of the ghostly genre alike.

The Midnight Club is set to premiere on Netflix on October 7th. You can check out the trailer below.
