Based on Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez’s eponymous comic series, Locke & Key is finally making a much-awaited comeback to Netflix with season two in tow, much to the delight of fans. Netflix has now released the teaser trailer for the same.
Created by Carlton Cuse, Meredith Averill and Aron Eli Coleite, the show is based on the life of the Locke family after they return to their ancestral Keyhouse following the murder of their father at the hands of his student. The three Locke children, Tyler, Kinsey and bode soon stubble upon mysterious keys that lead them to magical doors.
The first season sees a malevolent demon trying to overpower them as they try and find a connection between their father’s death and the sinister keys. The first season ended with the Locke children battling and defeating the demon and sending it back to its original place.
Locke & Key season two will most likely tie the loose ends together. Duncan Locke’s amnesia will either be resolved or will reach its peak. The three children will have to strike a balance between leading normal teenage lives and juggling the burdens of the pervading supernatural history and legacy of the family.
Audience members might also get to know about the demon’s intentions who had used the Identity Key and avoided being incarcerated just in time. Season two might show the Locke children finally uncover this treachery and further dive into the mysterious path.
The series is an overall beautiful look at love, loss, grief and denial that also emphasises the importance of family. The second season of Locke & Key will stream on Netflix on October 22nd, 2021.
