Netflix’s 'Squid Game' inspired Soulja Boy’s latest track

Netflix’s Squid Game has amassed immense popularity worldwide with people trying to host the, presumably, safer version of the game in real life and making dalgona honeycomb cookies. The series has become Netflix’s most popular show and now the rapper Soulja Boy has reportedly been inspired by the series to create his new song.

Directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk, Netflix’s survival thriller K-Drama Squid Game sees a group of people competing against one another for prize money of a whopping 45.6 billion Korean Won.

They need to follow the instructions of an unknown masked overseer with a panoptic gaze and participate in childhood games, whose innocence has been perverted with sinister means or die.

The various games include one named Red Light, Green Light in the very first episode where the participants have to run before a gigantic doll with creepy eyes turns around when they have to standstill. The slightest movement will cost them their life.

The rapper uses the quintessential beat that is the theme music of the series, composed by Jeong Jae-il. The song lyrics feature the name of the game and also refers to the violent massacre that takes place on a shockingly gruesome level.

It is not known if the track will be a part of his upcoming project, following his recent album Swag4 that was released on 3rd September 2021, by SODMG Records.
