Netflix shares a sneak peek at ‘Wednesday’ part two of season two
Nevermore Academy is not cooling down anytime soon. Netflix just dropped a sneak peek at Wednesday season two, part two, and it is clear that the second half of the season is out to twist the knife even deeper.
According to Jenna Ortega, Tim Burton, and the showrunners, this next stretch is all about suspicion because now “everybody’s a suspect.”
The preview leans into the whodunnit energy. Showrunners Al Gough and Miles Millar tease that the mystery has widened to the point where no one is above suspicion. Tim Burton himself calls this approach the season’s driving force. Instead of a straightforward villain hunt, the story scatters doubt across the entire cast.
It is the kind of storytelling that keeps you second-guessing. Then you end up rewinding scenes and squinting at even the smallest interactions. Oh, that feeling of keeping you on your toes… You might hate it, but the curiosity inside you loves it. So if you thought you could trust Wednesday’s friends, classmates, or even her family, it’s time to think again.
Part one already ended on a massive cliffhanger. Wednesday and Uncle Fester managed to foil Judi, the bird-wielding killer, but in the process opened up a much bigger problem. The inmates of Willow Hill Psychiatric Facility spill out into the world, and Tyler (aka the Hyde) is back in the picture. And he is so ready for revenge. Part one closed with Wednesday being thrown from a window, leaving fans desperate for answers. Part two picks up right in that storm, and the sneak peek makes it clear those threads are far from tied up.
And then comes the twist nobody saw coming: Principal Weems is back. Gwendoline Christie returns not as Nevermore’s living head, but as Wednesday’s new spirit guide. It is bold and eerie, and it instantly shifts the balance of power at Nevermore. Christie teases that their dynamic will surprise fans, and honestly, it is one of the most exciting angles of part two.
The cast is not at all shy about how dark things are about to get. Jenna Ortega describes the ending of episode four as “probably the darkest we’ve ever left an episode,” and promises the intensity carries into the next four. Burton adds that he sees this season as a kind of “jazz riff”.
Of course, the Addams family isn’t sitting this one out. Morticia, Gomez, Pugsley, Grandmama, Thing, and Uncle Fester are all back in the mix, which only adds to the tangle of motives and secrets. Their presence guarantees the mystery will not stay confined to the halls of Nevermore.
So what do we know? When Wednesday returns on September 3rd, the show doubles down on suspicion. Willow Hill’s mysteries spill wider, Weems returns in ghostly form, Hyde lurks in the shadows, and Wednesday herself is at the centre of a storm where every ally could turn out to be an enemy. As Burton puts it, everybody’s a suspect, and that is exactly why you won’t be able to stop watching.
