Netflix share teaser for season six of 'Formula 1: Drive To Survive'

Netflix has unveiled a teaser trailer for the upcoming sixth season of the documentary series Formula 1: Drive To Survive, set to arrive on February 23rd.

The Formula One-focused series first premiered in 2019, providing a glimpse at the drivers and managers behind the scenes. Since then, it has put out one new season of ten episodes each spring, covering the world championship from the year preceding.

The teaser trailer for the new season promises more drama and driving, splicing shots of drivers on red carpets and race tracks. “To be a Formula One driver, you have to be able to switch yourself off from everything that is happening around you,” one declares.

Some familiar faces are featured in the teaser, including British-Belgian driver Lando Norris, Australian driver Daniel Ricciardo, and Haas boss Guenther Steiner. The season could mark the final appearance of the latter, as he will not continue his role this year.

It shows the highs and lows of the sport, from champagne sprays to fighting between teammates. “When you get into that car, the noise goes away,” the trailer concludes.

The season sees the return of executive producer James Gay-Rees, who has previously produced a number of music and sport-based documentaries, including 2010’s Senna, 2015’s Amy, and 2018’s Maradonna. Paul Martin also returns as an executive producer.

All ten episodes of the new season are set to hit Netflix on February 23rd, 2024. Watch the teaser below.
