Netflix has secured an impressive ten nominations across seven countries for the prestigious International Emmy Awards, which celebrates television programs initially produced and aired outside the United States.
One of the standout nominations goes to the Indian series Delhi Crime season two. The series previously won Best Drama Series in 2020 for its first season at the International Emmys.
This time, the talented Shefali Shah has earned a nomination for Best Performance by an Actress for her exceptional portrayal in the gripping crime drama. She told Netflix, “I can’t find the words to describe what I’m feeling. Delhi Crime is such a special project to me.”
Shah expressed feeling overwhelmed with her own nomination, “While the first season of the show brought home the award in 2020, being nominated in the Best Actress category for Delhi Crime S2 is just overwhelming. This wouldn’t be possible without all the lovely people who are part of our team, as well as Netflix India for giving us the platform to bring this story to the world.”
Another notable entry is the acclaimed Derry Girls. The Rowan Atkinson-starrer Man vs. Bee also secured a nomination in the Short Form Series category.
The uproarious comedy series has been recognised in the Comedy category. Korean dramas The Empress and Extraordinary Attorney Woo have been acknowledged in the Drama Series category.
For younger audiences, Netflix has also made its mark with nominations for the Japanese show Gudetama: An Eggsellent Adventure, the Australian teen drama Heartbreak High, and the Brazilian animated series Menino Maluquinho/The Nutty Boy in the Kids: Live Action and Kids: Animation categories.Vir Das, a familiar face on the platform, has received a nod in the Comedy category for Vir Das: Landing, making this the second Indian nomination at this edition of the International Emmy Awards.
