Netflix renews ‘Nobody Wants This’ for a third season
Nothing beats the anticipation of renewals when it comes to fan-favourite shows on Netflix. As of today, there’s definitely no other news worthy of the loudest drum rolls than the third season greenlight for Nobody Wants This.
Yes, you read that right. The streaming giant has officially renewed Nobody Wants This for yet another comeback following the second instalment’s release, and it’s confirmed to come your way in 2026 itself.
In a recent conversation with Tudum, creator Erin Foster expressed her enthusiasm about the return, saying, “I couldn’t be more excited to head into a third season of this show.” And it’s safe to say, she’s not alone in the boat. Calling it a “privilege” to continue the story of the most beloved couple, Joanne and Noah, she continued, “As long as it doesn’t take too much time away from me watching reality TV at night, I’ll do it for as long as they want me to!”
For those still out of the loop with the iconic love story and in need of a push, Nobody Wants This follows an agnostic podcaster and a rabbi who fall head over heels for each other, despite their very different identities, families, backgrounds, and cultures. The contemporary Netflix series, steeped in modern, real-life problems, focuses on their relationship as they figure out how to make it work, one day at a time.
Similar to Foster, showrunners Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan couldn’t hold back their excitement. They conveyed their gratitude to Netflix and 20th Television, describing their job as “criminally fun,” while patting the backs of the creator, cast, and crew.
The second season of Nobody Wants This is already making waves on the Netflix charts, holding the peak on the English TV list for two consecutive weeks with 18million views garnered in the first 11 days. It’s also the top ten show in a whopping 82 countries at the moment. The frenzy has been so contagious with season two’s touchdown that the debut season has reappeared on the charts at the seventh position. In fact, the first season has become a top ten title in 89 countries, currently on its eighth week on the charts.
The second season hinged on the ups and downs in Joanne and Noah’s relationship, as the topic of conversion to Judaism eventually came down to nail-biting friction. But the season finale stole just as many hearts when Joanne finally decided to convert, while it dawned upon Noah that he wanted to be with her regardless of what she chose. It was Esther who helped Joanne see the bigger picture and the fact that she’s more Jewish than she thinks she is.
Now, with Netflix renewing the beloved series for a third season, it’s safe to assume that the love story is far from over. Although details remain scarce at the moment, expect nothing but the best from the streamer going forward. Hence, don’t forget to stay tuned for further updates because we know that everybody wants more of Nobody Wants This.
