Netflix releases teaser for terrifying new Mike Flanagan show

Netflix has released the first teaser for the upcoming Mike Flanagan horror show The Midnight Club.

Based on Christopher Pike’s eponymous book, the series is being developed by the team behind The Haunting of Bly Manor and The Haunting of Hill House.

The ten-episode series will be set in an ominous hospice called Rotterdam Home where terminally ill teenagers await death. Eight members constituting the Midnight Club meet each night to narrate horror stories and to connect with the supernatural.

Starring Nightmare of Elm Street actress Heather Langenkamp, the show will also feature the likes of Adia, William Chris Sumpter, Igby Rigney, Ruth Codd, Annarah Shephard, Sauriyan Sapkota and Aya Furukawa.

With a script approved by the master of horror, Stephen King himself, Flanagan has promised a “relentlessly dark and cynical” series.
He said, “This one was a really fun piece of material for me because I get to be like, ‘Oh you want a dark ending? Cool, get ready.'”

The teaser introduces the main cast as they chant a pretty sinister against a spooky backdrop. The chant reads, “To those before. To those after. To us now. And to those beyond. Seen or unseen. Here but not here.”

The show will also feature some familiar faces from his previous venture Midnight Mass, namely Zach Gilford, Samantha Sloyan and Matt Biedel.

The show is scheduled for an October 7th, 2022, premiere as a part of Netflix’s Halloween lineup.
