Netflix officially drops Meghan Markle’s show ‘With Love, Meghan’ and here’s why

The whole With Love, Meghan situation ended least dramatically as possible, mainly because somewhere along the way, we all saw it coming. This almost feels funny because Meghan Markle usually attracts huge attention, yet a Netflix show connected to her name ended without any headlines, which says a lot about how people reacted after watching it.

When the show first aired in 2025, it got mixed reviews from both critics and viewers. However, viewers mostly disliked it because nobody wanted to watch Meghan just take out food from its original packaging and put it into trays or transparent plastic wraps or jars. People were here for authenticity.

They did not tune in because they needed an explanation of what a lifestyle show is supposed to do. Everyone already understands the idea of a host in a kitchen preparing food while welcoming guests and sharing little hosting ideas. But as soon as people started watching the episodes, the internet reaction shifted to raised eyebrows and side comments about the strange feeling they were getting while watching the show.

The kitchen looked so perfect that the food stopped being the main focus after a few minutes, because attention kept moving toward the counters and the fruit bowls and the flowers. All of it appeared arranged with intense care, and that felt like the room was decorated for a camera rather than for dinner.

Cooking shows usually connect with viewers when the kitchen behaves the same way real kitchens behave during dinner, which means a pan overheats or sauce lands on the counter. In reality, those little moments help the audience feel included instead of making them feel as though they stand outside the room.

The thing about With Love, Meghan was that the overall atmosphere looked very controlling. The flawlessness didn’t feel attractive but threw an energy of “touch it, and it’ll be ruined”. Sure, Meghan lucked out in the guest matter because all of them smiled and complimented the food with polite enthusiasm, but it didn’t feel like the chaos that’s created when friends are over, which, by the way, would’ve worked in her favour.

Moreover, people online criticising it and pointing out the details that kept repeating across episodes played a huge part in its downfall. The neatness in the whole thing felt more scripted than it should have. It made watchers question how there can be a cooking show without a single mess.

What was she even thinking with this setup when a little mess in the kitchen would have made the whole show feel warmer and more inviting for viewers who cook dinner in spaces that rarely look perfect?

So when Netflix decided not to continue the show after two seasons and a holiday episode, the news did not cause much reaction online because people had already lost interest.

However, With Love, Meghan still got a fair run of two seasons rather than other Harry & Meghan projects like Pearl, which got cancelled even before it came to fruition, so it’s still a win for Meghan.
