Netflix joins forces with Barstool Sports for exclusive podcast deal
Having solidified its undisputed hold in the entertainment business, Netflix is now officially levelling up the sports segment with an exclusive, groundbreaking podcast deal struck with Barstool Sports.
Hot on the heels of announcing a reimagined FIFA simulation game for Netflix members, the streamer made headlines with its multi-year agreement with Barstool Sports, which promises to bring forth video versions of three of the brand’s greatest podcasts.
The podcasts include Pardon My Take, The Ryen Russillo Podcast, and Spittin’ Chiclets, which will be available exclusively on Netflix in early 2026.
The recently struck deal allows Netflix to stream all new video episodes from the three popular podcasts, along with select library episodes from each show. Meanwhile, the audio versions will be available for continued streaming elsewhere on platforms where fans already listen. The video podcasts will be launched on Netflix US with additional regions to follow over time.
“We’re excited to partner with Netflix and hopefully bring new audiences to each platform,” said Dave Portnoy, founder of Barstool Sports. “We’re thrilled to team up with Barstool Sports and bring their top video podcasts to Netflix,” said Lauren Smith, Netflix VP of Content Licensing and Programming Strategy.
“This partnership broadens how our members will connect with Barstool’s leading sports voices and delivers exactly what our members crave: unfiltered commentary, sharp takes, and undeniable humour. We look forward to giving fans another exciting way to engage with the conversations they love on Netflix.”
The partnership continues the sports-oriented programming expansion in streaming and marks a growing inclination towards premium, personality-driven sports content alongside live-streaming events, games, and documentaries.
Big Cat and PFT Commenter host Pardon My Take, which is the top-ranked sports podcast on Barstool. The podcast has a massive fan base, thanks to its incredible sports commentary and recurring segments. On the other hand, The Ryen Russillo Podcast is packed with expert analysis by Russillo and long-format conversations with athletes, key media figures, and prominent voices from sports around the world.
Lastly, Spittin’ Chiclets, hosted by Ryan Whitney, Paul Bissonnette, and Rear Admiral, unpacks commentary and discussions associated with the hockey culture while also mixing NHL coverage with pop culture, “storytelling and the locker-room energy,” which is now a trademark of the show. Additional details about the collaboration will surface in 2026. So, check back for more updates!
