Netflix is bringing ‘Victorious’ back, could Ariana Grande return?
Wake up, Nickelodeon kids, because if the words “Make It Shine“ still transport you back to 2010, we have some very nostalgic news for you. Hollywood Arts is opening its doors again! Yes, Hollywood Arts: home of bizarre assignments and the Asphalt Café. Brought back some familiar visuals, didn’t it? Well, a Victorious spinoff is finally on the way.
Netflix’s upcoming Victorious sequel series, Hollywood Arts, will premiere on October 15th, with Daniella Monet returning as the dramatic Trina Vega.
Only this time, Trina isn’t desperately trying to become Hollywood Arts’ next big star. Instead, she is coming back as a substitute acting teacher. Quite the leap, nay, character development, isn’t it?
The story finds Trina still chasing an acting career when she returns to her old school to temporarily replace retired acting teacher Erwin Sikowitz. What looks like another job at first ends up taking her in a completely different direction, as she realises she might actually be pretty good at guiding the next batch of aspiring performers.
And yes, Hollywood Arts will feel familiar. The Asphalt Café and Grub Truck are back, alongside recreated sets and little callbacks designed to make long-time viewers feel as though they have walked straight back into those school corridors. There is even a new social media platform called The Dap, essentially this generation’s answer to The Slap.
Joining Monet are Alyssa Miles as Emmy, Peyton Jackson as Qwest, Martin Kamm as Oscar, Emmy Liu-Wang as Pepper and Erika Swayze as Jen Z. Yvette Nicole Brown is also returning as Principal Helen.
But we know the question you are really asking: what about Ariana Grande?
For now, don’t expect Cat Valentine to come back through those doors. Grande is not currently announced as part of the returning cast. Victoria Justice, Elizabeth Gillies, Avan Jogia, Leon Thomas III and Matt Bennett haven’t been announced as regulars either.
So no, this isn’t quite the full Victorious reunion millennials have been dreaming about. Still, seeing Trina Vega back at Hollywood Arts in 2026 is probably enough to hit the nostalgia button for anyone who spent their childhood watching the original.
