Netflix is adapting Marian Keyes best-seller 'Grown Ups'

Netflix has revealed that the novel Grown Ups by Marian Keyes will be adapted into a TV series.

The streaming service has said that it will bring the novel, which is widely considered a favourite by many readers, to the screen as an “Ensemble family drama.” Samantha Strauss will be in charge of adapting the book for the screen and heading up executive production duties. See Saw Films are on board to produce the series and casting has yet to be announced.

In a social media post, an excited Keyes shared the news saying, “Hello, I’ve exciting News!!!! Seesaw Productions and Netflix are adapting Grown Ups (a book I wrote) for THE TELLY!!! YES!”

Netflix has confirmed that the series will be eight episodes long and is set to premiere in 2026. Details surrounding cast and directorial duties are yet to be revealed, but more information is expected soon when production officially begins.

The adaptation was announced as part of Netflix’s huge rollout on Next on Netflix. Also included in the announcement was a new reality series with Holly Willoughby and Bear Grylls, the seventh series of Black Mirror and a five-part political thriller starring Suranne Jones.

Grown Ups won’t be the first adaptation of a novel that the streaming giant has taken on. The new series One Day is an adaptation of the book of the same name by David Nicholls. It has received stellar reviews as fans have praised the cast and crew’s ability to do the original novel justice. Others will be hoping that Grown Ups will continue on a similar trajectory.

This is a developing story; more information on the film’s release date and who will play the Casey family will follow.
