From renewal to release date: Everything about Netflix's 'Elite Season 5'

Teenage Spanish thriller drama Elite has extremely engrossing plotlines each season. It focuses on the lives of three working-class teenagers who are enrolled in an elite Spanish private school via a scholarship programme. This leads to a difficult class struggle between the bourgeoisie and proletariat that leads to murder and leads to heaps of mysteries surrounding the crime that leads to the collapse in several lives. Created by Carlos Montero and Dario Madrona, the seasons are steeped in various heavyweight issues, teenage problems, sexual conflicts as well as other mystery tropes. The flashback structure helps accentuate the thick layer of suspense in the show.

With the first season focusing on Marina’s killer to the second season focusing on Samu’s disappearance as well as Polo’s murder being focused on in the third season, each season deals with various different grappling narratives. With the fourth season of Elite gracing the streaming platform, the iconic series is creating a lot of buzzes. Season 4 and season 5 are highly anticipated as fans cannot wait to see what the show has in store for us. While fans are binge-watching the fourth season which is already quite enticing, they cannot wait for the fifth season that shall probably release next year.

Deriving help from the good folks at NetflixLife and PopBuzz, we have created a detailed article comprising details regarding the fifth season.

Here is everything that Elite fans have to know about the fifth season.

Everything about Netflix’s Elite Season 5:

How many seasons does the show have now?

Elite is incredibly entertaining and melodramatic and has four successful seasons that are available for streaming on Netflix.

Ranging from about 47 minutes to 55 minutes in length, these episodes are extremely well-crafted and help build the story arc well.

If you want to know more about individual characters, head over to Elite: Short Stories on Netflix where each episode highlights a particular character and adds as a prelude to the events that follow in the fourth season.

Will Elite be renewed for a fifth season?

Netflix confirmed on 25 February 2021 that the show was being renewed for a fifth season.

They said in their tweet, “Elite fans get ready for more because the show has been renewed for a fifth season! (and before you ask… no, Season 4 has not premiered yet).”

The third season was released last year in March while the 4th season graced the streaming platform on 18th May 2021.

How many episodes should fans expect?

Elite has a unique eight-episode style layout for every season and this has worked considerably well in spinning out their narrative.

Referring to the nearly blank IMDB Page for the show’s fifth season, one can see that there shall possibly be eight episodes this season as well.

What is the production status of the show?

Filming began in February 2021 for the fifth season and shooting apparently concluded on 15 June 2021 according to official reports.

When will season 5 stream on Netflix?

Elite usually streams a particular season annually with the third season streaming in 2020 followed by the fourth in 2021, it is most likely for the fifth season to be released somewhere between May and June next year, in 2022.

Who will be the cast members this season?

No official announcement has been made regarding the casting choice for the fifth season. Certain characters had left in the third season to pursue their own adventures, including Ester Expósito (Carla), Álvaro Rico (Polo), Danna Paola (Lu), Jorge López (Valerio) and Mina El Hammani (Nadia), although Mina returned for a cameo in the fourth season.

The fourth season shall see  Miguel Bernardeau (Guzmán), Itzan Escamilla (Samuel), Omar Shana (Omar), Arón Piper (Ander), and Claudia Salas (Rebeka) retaking their final year at school while actors like Pol Granch (Phillipe), Manu Rios (Patrick), Martina Cariddi (Mencía) and Carla Díaz (Ari) joined the cast. Guzman and Ander shall be travelling by the end of the season which means that Miguel Bernardeau and Aron Piper might not return. Pol Granch’s Phillipe may not return as well.

Netflix Queue revealed in a tweet on February 25, 2021, that, “Elite has been renewed for a fifth season and two new actors have joined the cast: Argentinian actress Valentina Zenere and Brazilian actor André Lamoglia”.

What possible events might take place this season?

Elite season 5 will most likely focus on a different plotline reeking of adventure and mystery, given how Mencia is no longer in danger following Armando’s death. With Guzman leaving the scene, Ari could probably start dating Samuel. However, all the characters could be rounded in for questioning by the police if Armando’s corpse is discovered.

This could even prompt Guzman and Ander to return to the season given how, spoiler alert, Guzman killed Armando. While Omar, Patrick and Cayetana might indulge in new affairs, Mencia and Rebeka might be included in more scenes.

Elite season 5 does not have a trailer yet, however here is the trailer for the fourth season.
