Netflix confirms that new episodes of 'Lupin' are on the way

The hit new French mystery series Lupin is set to be given new episodes as Netflix confirms it the show will return this summer to complete the story.

Netflix announced last week that Lupin will return in the summer of 2021 for part two of the first season as the mystery series continues to gather up fans across the globe. Sometimes, shows can break the language barrier and Lupin is certainly one of them.

Starring Omar Sy as the show’s main protagonist Assane Diop, Lupin first aired on Netflix in January with five episodes. The show was quickly seized upon by fans whose avid viewing saw the show break the top ten of Netflix shows in a variety of countries.

Five episodes, however, left audiences feeling hungry for more. After all, for most people, those episodes were gobbled up in a single sitting and now they want more. Luckily, that’s exactly what they’ll get as another five episodes have been commissioned and will see Ludovic Bernard and Hugo Gelin direct. Netflix teased the new installment with a new poster featuring Sy and the release date.

Created by George Kay and François Uzan, Lupin is roughly pinned on the story of fictional gentleman thief Arsène Lupin, a character which featured in the 20th-century books of French novelist Maurice Leblanc.

It’s not the only French series currently finding an audience. The show Call My Agent!, set at a fictional talent agency, is equally essential watching.
