Netflix confirms the release date for the action film 'My Name'

Netflix has released the teaser poster of the upcoming action film My Name that will premiere on the streamer on October 15, 2021.

Following his collaboration with Netflix for the much-acclaimed film Extracurricular, which dealt with the dark story about high school teenagers, director Kim Jin-min is returning for his second action noir film.

It will see a woman named Jiwoo taking up a job as an undercover cop to avenge the death of her father at the hands of a criminal underbelly. She becomes the snitch in the police force under the alias name and goes to extreme lengths to reach her goal while stumbling upon unwelcome truths.

A highly-anticipated collaboration based on Kim Va-da’s screenplay, the film will star Han So-Hee, Park Hee-Soon, Kim Sang-ho, Ahn Bo-Hyun and Lee Hak-Ju among others. It will release globally on Netflix on October 15, 2021.

Han So-Hee will be playing the lead protagonist that is totally different from the roles she has played for Netflix as Yeo Da-Gyeong in The World of the Married and Yu Na-bi in Nevertheless. She will be seen in a brand new avatar with a dark side.

The teaser ominously reads, “No one can know. My enemy, my revenge”. It shows So-hee, clad in an all-black ensemble, looking dishevelled with scars adorning her weary face. She is standing in an alleyway strewn with dead bodies and holds a gleaming knife with blood splatters in her hands. She looks absolutely badass and radically different from the shy and insecure college girl avatar as Na-Bi in Nevertheless.

Han So-Hee has performed all the difficult and demanding action sequences herself and looks compelling as the bloodthirsty Jiwoo, desperate for vengeance. Take a look at the teaser poster below:
