Netflix cancels animation 'Inside Job' in shock move

Fans of the animated series Inside Job, divert your eyes. Netflix has axed the celebrated show, even though it had been renewed for a second season, upsetting fans across the globe.

An adult science fiction sitcom created by the American screenwriter Shion Takeuchi, Inside Job originally premiered on October 22nd, 2021, with the second part of the first series being released on November 18th, 2022. Telling the story of a workplace where conspiracy theories are created, headed up by a tech genius, reptilian shapeshifters, a human-dolphin hybrid, and a sapient mushroom, the show’s whacky originality will be truly missed.

Taking to Twitter to announce the news, Takeuchi stated, “I am heartbroken to confirm that Netflix has decided to cancel season 2 of Inside Job. Over the years, these characters have become real people to me, and I am devastated not to be able to watch them grow up. Regan and Brett deserved to get their ending and finally find happiness. And I would have loved to be able to share what was in store with you all”.

Continuing, she adds, “To everyone who watched, thank you for coming along for the ride. Even though I’m sad, it helps to know that there’s people out there who cared just as much about these characters as me”.

The streaming service has gained notoriety in recent years for cancelling TV shows before they had the chance to thrive, with their most recent victims of the cut being The Midnight Club, 1899 and Warrior Nun
