Netflix announces the release date for ‘Disenchantment’ season 4

Almost a year after the premiere of its third season, Netflix has finally announced the release date for the fourth season of Disenchantment, besides providing a first-look photo at the new season.

Created by Matt Groening, this adult fantasy series marked Groening’s return after The Simpsons and Futurama. The series sees a  typical fairytale being subverted by an alcoholic princess and her personal demon embarking on various escapades that turn sour.

They, along with an elf, encounter various supernatural and human elements who help add oddball humour to this strange series. While the series did not attain the stature of his other works, it prevails as one of the most coveted adult comedy cartoons on Netflix

The audience will find themselves cracking up at the sheer hilarity and stupidity of the situations in the mediaeval world when the bizarre characters are met with funny situations it is comparatively more light-hearted and fun.

The series took to Twitter on January 19th, 2022, to unveil the picture of Bean sitting on the throne as the Queen of Dreamland, following the events of season three.

Slated to hit the streamer on February 9th, 2022, the Netflix show will see Bean, voiced by Abbi Jacobson, face an impending obstacle in the form of her marriage to Alva Gunderson. Bean’s struggles keep mounting and the fourth season will show how she tries to keep it all together.

While fans are speculating the show to have the long-lasting longevity of Groening’s preceding works, co-developer Josh Weinstein had said in 2018 that the “end” was near.

He said while everybody would want to expand on a show for “10 years”, they did not want to be “greedy”. He had also promised a fulfilling and “satisfying end” to the series.
