Netflix announces release date for the new Ryan Reynolds film

Ryan Reynolds has had a massive year with his Netflix film Red Notice topping several charts in 2021, becoming one of the most-streamed films on the streaming giant. His upcoming film The Adam Project has received an official release date from the streamer.

Slated for a March 11th premiere this year, the film will see Reynolds working in close collaboration with Stranger Things producer Shawn Levy in what must surely be the most mouth-watering collaboration of the year.

Reynolds will be seen as the titular Adam who travels back in time to confront his late father. Walker Scobell will portray his younger self who works closely with Reynolds to accept certain realities.

The rest of the cast comprises Mark Ruffalo as their father and Jennifer Garner as their mother. Zoe Saldana, Alex Mallari Jr. and Catherine Keener are also a part of the film in roles that have not yet been revealed.

Although the film was initially a 2012 Paramount project with Tom Cruise leading it, the idea was taken over by Netflix who began filming in 2020 before wrapping up in March 2021.

Levy and Reynolds have collaborated together recently on Free Guy, a film that was acclaimed by critics and had a whopping domestic collection of $121.5m.

Following his success on Red Notice alongside Dwayne Johnson and Gal Gadot, Reynolds will soon be seen in Spirited alongside Will Ferrell. The Christmas musical will see Reynolds playing an uncharacteristic role as a Scrooge-like character who absolutely despises the Holiday season.

The Adam Project will release on March 11th, 2022.
