Netflix announces exciting new horror anime for 2022

Netflix has a wide collection of anime on its figurative shelves. It is a section that is growing by the day since the streamer has taken a special interest in tapping that particular demographic. Horror anime is something that often seems far-fetched as we often tend to associate anime with action-adventure or feel-good romantic comedies.

However, Netflix has quite a few horror anime series and is looking to expand on it, given its massive fanbase, in 2022 by introducing an upcoming series.

Exception seems to be a sci-fi horror series that boasts immaculate and stunning visuals that will be designed by the legendary Yoshitaka Amano. Directed by Yuzo Sato, the series designs will be brought to life by 5 Inc and Bakken Record, the two popular anime studios.

Based on Hirotaka Adachi’s story, the anime will revolve around a crew of scientists who will venture out of Earth to find a habitable planet as Earth is on the brink of destruction.

The official description reads, “In the distant future, human beings have been forced to leave earth and migrate to another galaxy. An advanced team of spacecraft arrives at a planet that is to be terraformed. Each member of the team is output by a biological 3D printer.”

Netflix Japan Anime recently shared the first look of the series which already hints at a creepy premise as an eerie, black furry creature with glass eyes looks into our souls.

While the release date has not yet been announced, take a look at the first teaser below:
