Netflix announces 'Cobra Kai' season 5 release date

The popular Netflix Karate series Cobra Kai had been renewed for the fifth season on August 27th, 2021. In December, the cast and crew had reportedly wrapped filming in Atlanta, Georgia, leading to various speculations about the release date.

Netflix has finally announced the release date of the fifth season and Cobra Kai fans do not have to wait for too long before they witness action and drama.

The fifth season is scheduled to arrive on Netflix on September 9th, 2022. Since the show was acquired by Netflix, they have usually released new seasons on New Year’s Day or New Year’s Eve.

However, the show took to its official Twitter account to inform the fans how their “New Year’s tradition just got bumped up a few months,” adding a trailer that shows some of the main characters this season. The trailer also focuses on aftereffects of the fourth season events, a few compelling team-ups and a great deal of Terry Silver.

Written and produced by the ‘Big 3’, namely Josh Herald, Hayden Schlossberg and Jon Hurwitz, the fifth season will star Ralph Macchio, William Zabka, Courtney Henggeler, Xolo Mariduena, Tanner Buchanan, Jacob Bertrand, Mary Mouser, Gianni Decenzo, Peyton List, Vanessa Rubio, Oona O’Brien and Dallas Dupree, and has already upped fan anticipation regarding inevitable high-strung action and quality content.

Zabka had also recently spoken to ScreenRant about how season five is his favourite season yet, adding that he was “wrapped up in what’s going on right now that’s so far down the road from what I’m talking about”.
