Netflix announce premiere for new K-drama ‘Black Knight’

Netflix have announced that a new original K-drama, Black Knight, will be heading to the streaming platform later this year.

The new series is based on the cult web series, Delivery Knight, which ran online between 2017 and 2019. Netflix have since adapted the premise into their own dystopian effort which is set to premiere globally on May 12th.

The series comes with the following synopsis: “In a dystopian future devastated by air pollution, the survival of humanity depends on the Black Knights—and they’re far from your average deliverymen.”

Our Blues star Kim Woo-bin will take the lead role as ‘5-8’ who is joined by his fellow deliverymen in fighting the oppressive corporation that brutally rules the world. The series is set to be directed by Cold Eyes filmmaker Cho Ui-seok.

“I felt immense happiness while filming this series, and I sincerely hope that our collective efforts resonate with the viewers, and they too relish every moment of it, just as I did,” Kim announced in a Netflix press release.

Netflix will be hoping that the series can be their answer to the fellow dystopian smash-hit The Last of Us
