‘Nemesis’ is officially returning to Netflix with a second season

Courtney A Kemp and Tani Marole’s gritty crime thriller, Nemesis, has been officially renewed for a second season on Netflix. So, in case you thought Isaiah Stiles was done with the cat-and-mouse chase, you’re gravely mistaken.

In a conversation with Tudum, Kemp recently addressed the renewal, saying, “I feel blessed to get a season two. We thank the fans, it’s because of them – there’s no other reason. It’s them showing up, them talking about it, and their huge social media response… We are grateful to Netflix for recognising the power of our audience and bringing us back for the fans.”

In the second season of Nemesis, Detective Stiles will continue his pursuit of formidable thief Coltrane Wilder through the streets of Los Angeles. “We’re going to make sure questions get answered, and even more questions are available for you to answer. Make no mistake, season two is going to be bigger and better.”

The last time we met the cops and robbers in Nemesis, they were busy squaring off on opposite ends of the law, with Stiles’s son Noah caught in the crossfire. In an attempt to save Noah, Stiles let Wilder take the run and escape. This ended with Wilder assuming he had the last laugh when he remarked to Stiles, “You were never gonna win!” However, with the renewal news now confirmed, it’s safe to say Wilder may have spoken too soon.

“We didn’t pitch this concept without an idea of what we would do in season two,” Kemp explains. “It’s going to be bigger and more intense, and we’re going to complicate the conflict between these two.”

The creator duo went on to tease that Nemesis season two will pick up the story in the most “unexpected” way. “For me, what’s most gratifying is people really getting attached to and focusing on the female characters. We had a lot of people ask for more of Charlie and Ebony’s background, and I think that is a place we’d love to explore,” Kemp adds.

Plus, with the debut season of Nemesis concluding with several body bags, expect new characters in the sophomore season to join the fight. While Kemp and Marole have quite a few family trees to choose their characters from, only time will tell whether there are more like Stiles and Wilder that fans are yet to meet.
