‘Mr Robot’ to finally stream on Netflix in the US
Netflix in the United States has just acquired the license to a new critically acclaimed series. Mr. Robot, which originally aired on USA Network, completed its fourth and final season nearly six years ago. It will now finally be available to stream on Netflix as it acquired the rights for all four seasons.
Mr. Robot follows a young programmer, Elliot Alderson, as he lives a double life. Alderson finds himself stuck in a collaboration with F-Society, a terrorist group that wishes to break down the entire financial and political system.
The show was created by Sam Esmail, who is also known for his work and direction in the film Leave the World Behind. It went on to become one of the most popular films on Netflix.
The show stars Rami Malek, who is widely recognised for his role as the lead singer Freddie Mercury in the band Queen, in the film Bohemian Rhapsody. He even went on to win the Academy Award for Best Actor.
Fans adore him for his role as Anderson, and he has also received the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama series for it.
Malek is joined by Carly Chaikin, who is known for her work in Suburgatory. She plays the role of Darlene, his younger sister in the show. Portia Doubleday stars as Angela Moss, his childhood friend. She is known for her work as Chris Hargensen in Carrie. Martin Wallström and Christian Slater also play important roles in the series.
All four seasons, comprising 45 episodes, will be streaming on Netflix from July 3rd. There is no information about the time period of the licensing yet; however, the agreements usually last between one to five years. The show has been available on Netflix in a few international regions, but will finally be released in the United States.
