Netflix has always turned over its content regularly, and December 2024 is no different. Therefore, in addition to a swathe of new content coming to the platform, the month will also see a host of movies being removed.

December 1st will see an exodus of 55 films across both Netflix UK and Netflix US. UK customers will lose access to blockbusters like Peter Berg’s Battleship and Terminator: Salvation, the Will Ferrell comedy Talladega Nights, and acclaimed dramas like Donnie Brasco, Erin Brockovich, Layer Cake, Nocturnal Animals and Whiplash.

Subscribers in America won’t be able to watch the Crawley’s big screen adventure any more, as the 2019 Downton Abbey movie is leaving Netflix. They will also lose It: Chapter Two, The Little Things, The Matrix Resurrections, To Leslie, and a couple of Tyler Perry’s efforts: Diary of a Mad Black Woman and Tyler Perry’s Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counsellor.

Throughout the rest of the month, the Ryan Reynolds comic book misfires Green Lantern and RIPD will exit Netflix UK, as will his action thriller Safe House. Bad Boys For Life will leave on December 17th, followed by Aquaman and all three entries in the Rush Hour franchise on the 20th. American subscribers will lose Hugh Jackman’s Reminiscence on the 6th, Trolls on the 7th, the 2021 Mortal Kombat reboot on the 16th, and The Flash on the 21st.

Interestingly, a couple of lesser known Netflix Originals will also be exiting stage left. On December 1st, Charlie Brooker’s interactive animated film Cat Burglar will be removed from Netflix UK, followed by the French musical drama Let’s Dance leaving the US service on December 6th. Then, on December 28th, the Uruguayan prison drama A Twelve-Year Night will be removed.
