March is now in full swing, and the weather has a bit of deciding to do. Ought it cling to the last frosts of winter, making us all miserable for just a bit longer, or bring forth the promising rays of spring, urging the plants to rise up out of the ground once more? For now, the future remains uncertain, but one thing that is clear is that Netflix viewers are rinsing their way through the best series the streaming service has to offer.
Diving into this week’s top Netflix series, we can see that there is one clear winner. The third season of Outer Banks has stormed to the top of the pile, enjoying its second week in the top 10 with nearly 100 million hours viewed. The show has certainly proved popular as its first and second seasons can also be found amongst the competitors.
Outer Banks is the mystery/adventure teen drama by Shannon Burke and Josh and Jonas Pate that first premiered on Netflix back in 2020. The show is set in Outer Banks, North Carolina and focuses on two separate groups of teenagers who come into conflict while trying to find a long-lost treasure.
Rather far behind in second place is season two of Sex/Life, enjoying its first week in the top 10 with around 44 million hours viewed. The show was created by Stacy Rukeyser, and promotional material suggested it told of what happens when “a suburban mother of two takes a fantasy-charged trip down memory lane that sets her very married present on a collision course with her wild-child past.” Season one of the show also makes an appearance.
The first season of Perfect Match has found its feet in the top 10 for the third week now, just shy of Sex/Life in third place. The reality dating show takes contestants from other Netflix reality shows and pairs them up, having them compete in challenges and try to form lasting relationships with one another. Dating shows have always proven popular on Netflix, and Perfect Match serves as something of a ‘greatest hits’ version of them.
The list is rounded off by the likes of the Addams Family reboot Wednesday, the limited murder mystery series Murdaugh Murders, season two of Next in Fashion and the brand new season of sports documentary Drive to Survive. Check out the complete list of this week’s top 10 series on Netflix below.
