Millie Bobby Brown joins forces with Rachel Brosnahan for ‘Prism’ on Netflix
Millie Bobby Brown may have had to pack her bags on the Stranger Things front like the rest of the gang. But the Upside Down closure has nothing on her tenure with Netflix. In fact, she most recently joined forces with Superman star Rachel Brosnahan for Prism on Netflix, meaning she’s soon returning for more than Just Picture It.
According to an exclusive Deadline report, citing industry sources, the Stranger Things actor will star in and executive produce the new supernatural series, currently in development at the streaming giant.
Besides Brown, Rachel Brosnahan and AGBO will also executive produce for their third project with Netflix. Although Netflix has declined to comment, the tabloid confirms that Etan Frankel, best known for his work in Shameless and Joe vs Carole, will serve as the showrunner.
Brown will portray Cassie, a woman with the rare ability to communicate with spirits, tasked with uncovering the root cause of a newfound phenomenon that causes “visitors” (apparitions) to appear throughout the globe before it’s too late.
The upcoming series on Netflix is based on the short story featured in Assemble Artifacts magazine as an Assemble Original. Writer Nick Shafir, who will co-produce the series, developed Prism in-house with Assemble Media set to produce.
Brown will executive produce the show under her PCMA banner, Brosnahan and Russell Kahn through Scrap Paper Pictures, Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Angela Russo-Otsot, Scott Nemes and Alessandra Maman via AGBO, and Jack Heller and Caitlin de Lisser-Ellen on behalf of Assemble Media.
While Brown has been attached to star in previously announced projects, starring in Prism won’t stand in the way of any of that. Prism will also mark her second collaboration with AGBO, following The Electric State, the Russo Brothers’ latest film, which was released on Netflix last year.
Additionally, with Prism, Brown adds another milestone to her Netflix achievements, following her breakout role as Eleven in Stranger Things, which is set to conclude with a three-part finale season in November and December. Besides the hit sci-fi series, she is also attached to the Enola Holmes franchise. The third film from the series is anticipated for a 2026 release.
Brosnahan’s relationship with Netflix began with House of Cards, but eventually she went on to star in one episode of Orange Is the New Black. She also appeared in Saturn Return with Charles Melton and Will Poulter. Among the most famous of her works is the Emmy-winning The Marvelous Mrs Maisel. Moreover, she portrayed Lois Lane in James Gunn’s Superman, starring David Corenswet. She’s also preparing to star in and executive produce Apple TV’s Presumed Innocent for its sophomore season.
Meanwhile, AGBO is busy producing Avengers: Doomsday in London. It also has Avengers: Secret Wars next in line, with the Russo Brothers directing the superhero flick. AGBO recently rolled out The Electric State for Netflix and completed production for The Bluff for Amazon MGM, and The Whisper Man for Netflix. The second season of Prime Video’s Citadel is currently in post-production.
Lastly, Frankel is caught up as an executive producer for Big Mistakes for Netflix, with Dany Levy starring and writing it. He also spent four years in a deal with UCP, serving as the creator for Joe vs Carole for Peacock.
