Meghan Markle announces details of new Netflix show
A new lifestyle featuring Meghan Markle will soon be arriving on Netflix. It promises to incorporate “candid” moments with “practical how-to’s” alongside several celebrity guests.
The new show, called With Love, Meghan, will give a glimpse into the Dutchess of Sussex’s daily life in California, where she lives with her husband, Prince Harry, and two children.
In the trailer she shared on her Instagram, Markle is seen making food, laughing with friends, and enjoying time away from the hustle and bustle. “I’m going to share some little tips and tricks,” she says in the clip, continuing, “and how you incorporate these practices every day. We’re not in the pursuit of perfection, we’re in the pursuit of joy.”
Other guests that appear during the series include Mindy Kaling and Abigail Spencer, alongside chefs Chefs Roy Choi and Alice Waters. During one “candid” moment, Kaling tells Markle that she is enjoying one of “the most glamorous moments of my life,” causing Markle to respond with laughter.
Prince Harry also makes a brief appearance when the couple share a relaxing moment on their sunny patio. The pair got married in 2018 and moved to California in 2020 to enjoy a quieter life and focus on raising their family.
Their time away from traditional royal duties has also witnessed them start a production company, get more heavily involved in charity work, and focus on creating lifestyle shows, allowing fans to remain in the loop about their lives since leaving London.
The pair initially signed a deal with Netflix in 2020 with the goal of creating content “that informs but also gives hope.” Since then, four projects have arrived on the platform so far, including Harry & Meghan, Heart of Invictus, and Live to Lead.
Among the latest was Prince Harry’s docuseries POLO, which delivered a behind-the-scenes look at the equestrian sport, primarily at the US Open Polo Championship in Florida. Prince Harry has played polo for decades, and the streamer deal provided him with the perfect opportunity to divulge one of his longstanding interests.
However, given the sparse nature of their content and recent rumours that executives aren’t sure about the audience response to POLO, it’s uncertain whether they will receive an offer for another continuation. It’s likely that much of this hinges on the success of the upcoming With Love, Meghan, as Netflix waits for the couple to deliver a major hit before the current deal ends sometime this year.
With Love, Meghan is set for release on January 15th and includes eight 30-minute episodes.
