Maya Hawke wants to see Eddie return as a ghost in 'Stranger Things'

Bingewatchers, rejoice, for the whole of season four of Stranger Things is now available to watch in its entirety.

It should be a sign of just how great the show is that fans are already eagerly predicting where season five could lead, with many thinking that they may have even sussed-out the direction of the show’s future. Some of these theories don’t even sound too far off either, with Maya Hawke, who plays Robin Buckley in the Netflix series, discussing her own hopes for the future of the series in a recent interview.

Her hopes for the future of the show come after the (spoilers inbound!) death of Eddie Munson, played by Joe Quinn, who sacrificed himself in the season finale so that the gang could defeat Vecna. Whilst many thought he might survive the attack, the show had other ideas, killing him off in a tragic scene.

Since the season finale was released, a petition has appeared on change.org with over 60,000 signatures, each asking for Eddie to be revived in the final episodes of the show. “I totally sympathise with fans who want to see more of him,” Maya Hawke told NME in response to such an outpouring of fan support.

Whilst she would love to see this happen too, she also adds, “I feel like we can’t keep killing people and bringing them back to life – the same fans would be so annoyed! But I would love them to find a way to have Eddie’s ghost in the mix, just because Joe Quinn is such an awesome guy. He’s so much fun to have on set and such a great actor”.
