Marvel boss Kevin Feige says Netflix shows could be revived

Netflix has always been the place for the hottest new shows around so when Marvel decided to cancel their own collection of titles on the streaming platform, it looked like an admission of superhero attention spans beginning to wane.

Jessica Jones, The Punisher, Daredevil, Iron Fist and Luke Cage were all given the boot after a seemingly poor performance on the platform and the parent studio’s move to Disney. However, now, Marvel boss Kevin Feige has suggested that those shows could well be revived in the future.

Feige was speaking with Deadline ahead of WandaVision release on Disney +, when he suggested that the Marvel shows could once again see the light of day again but we’re unsure whether that will be on Netflix.

The shows were all axed because of Marvel’s move to Disney + following their parent studio Fox being bought out by Mickey Mouse and co. Now, with Netflix’s copyright running out last year, fans have queried Feige with whether he will pursue the titles once more.

“Well, certainly you’ve seen what we announced at Comic-Con a year and half ago and on Disney Investor Day a few weeks ago, so that’s our focus,” the Marvel Studios boss said. “But I’ve been at Marvel long enough to never say never about anything.”

Now Feige once again has the rights to those characters in his hands, we’re sure we’ll see Daredevil and The Punisher et al sooner rather than later. Whether that’ll be on Netflix once more, well, we’ll have to wait and see.
