'Love, Death and Robots' third season set to hit Netflix in May

Perhaps one of the stranger Netflix titles, Love, Death and Robots, is getting a third season and it is set to be released by Netflix on May 20th, 2022.

A science fiction anthology series about love is a perfect Ven diagram for Netflix users. The streaming platform announced that the third edition of the show would arrive next month with a brand new video. The teaser video comes with a doff of the cap to The Crown and The Queen’s Gambit.

The show is seen as Black Mirror’s younger sibling, Love, Death and Robots is a short anthology where the episodes deal with various stories set in a nearly dystopian future. The first series was released in 2019 and showcased an adult television series that few could have predicted. The eight-episode season two will be followed next month by another eight-episode series.

Varying themes of love, friendship, robot invasion, revenge, feminism and more take the foreground in every story which has a different premise. From insectoid invasion to finding a civilisation contained within a freezer, the series has a set of crazy ideas which unfold before our eyes in short, and on an average, 20-minute-long episodes.

With “Sonnie’s Edge”, “Beyond the Aquila Rift” and “Zima Blue” being certain personal favourites, the series is a must-watch for sci-fi and cyberpunk aficionados. An abundance of gore, violence and sexual undertones complement the otherworldly and dystopian image of delusion and desolation brought in by the show. Because deep down, we all want to see yoghurts reigning over us someday, right?
