'Locke & Key' reveals trailer for third and final season

Locke & Key is coming to an end, and the final season of the show will come to Netflix next month. Netflix has released the official trailer for the season, which will be available for streaming on August 10th.

Season three will wrap up the story of Locke & Key, with the Locke family facing their biggest perils yet.

The show is based on an award-winning comic book series written by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez from IDW Entertainment. It was adapted for television by Carlton Cuse, Meredith Averill and Aron Eli Coleite. Carlton Cuse had previously written Lost and Bates Motel, while Averill penned The Haunting of Hill House.

The Netflix synopsis for season three of Locke & Key reads: “Locke & Key is a coming-of-age mystery about love, loss, and the unshakable bonds that define family. The Locke family uncovers more magic within Keyhouse, while a new threat — the most dangerous one yet — looms in Matheson with plans of his own for the keys.”

It was always planned that the show would run for three seasons, so hopefully, with that in mind, the writers will be able to wrap up the show’s plot without any loose ends.

Cuse and Averill said in a joint statement, “Once we began working on the series, we felt three seasons was the ideal length to bring the story of the Locke family and their Keyhouse adventures to a satisfying conclusion. As storytellers, we are grateful that we had the opportunity to tell our version of Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez’s incredible story exactly the way we wanted. We’re keeping the magical keys, though, for our own personal use.”

The show stars Emilia Jones, Jackson Robert Scott, Sherri Saum, Coby Bird, Brendan Hynes, Kevin Durand, Connor Jessup and Darby Stanchfield.
