Netflix has unveiled the trailer for new rom-com Irish Wish, featuring Lindsey Lohan as Maddie, a woman who grapples with her emotions towards her best friend’s future husband.
In the trailer, Maddie is depicted en route to a wedding, harbouring a secret desire to be the one marrying the groom. Upon making a wish to swap lives, she awakens to a drastically altered reality. Yet, over time, she develops a bond with the wedding’s photographer, portrayed by Ed Speelers, leading her to confront a pivotal decision.
Since dropping the trailer, fans on social media have expressed their excitement at Lohan’s return to “life swap” movies, anticipating Irish Wish to be one of her best yet.
The synopsis reads: “When the love of her life gets engaged to her best friend, Maddie (Lohan) puts her feelings aside to be a bridesmaid at their wedding in Ireland. Days before the pair are set to marry, Maddie makes a spontaneous wish for true love, only to wake up as the bride-to-be. But as her dream gets closer to coming true, Maddie realizes that her real soulmate is someone else entirely.”
This year is set to be a big one for Netflix, which recently revealed a host of highly-anticipated films and television shows coming to the platform in 2024. Alongside Irish Wish, fans have also been excited to get first glimpses at Millie Bobby Brown’s Damsel, Andrew Scott’s Ripley, Zack Synder’s Rebel Moon, and many more.
On February 24th, Netflix also plans to present the glam of the 30th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, which will showcase the best of the best in the current landscape of talent.
Irish Wish is set to premiere on the streaming platform on March 15, 2024.
