Linda Hamilton jokes being cast in 'Stranger Things' has "ruined the show" for her

Linda Hamilton has been taught a valuable lesson about joining projects you’re already attached to after being confirmed as a crucial cast member in season five of Stranger Things

“I’ve watched every season with relish. I just love it,” she said in an interview. “So it’s kind of, like, imposter syndrome where I don’t [feel that I] fit in there. That’s a whole world set in the ‘80s.”

The actress has confirmed that though she is excited about joining the show, she also isn’t going to be able to watch the final season now that she’s involved.

“When you really buy into something, you don’t see yourself in it. So, I think in a way, it kind of ruined the show for me. I never watch [a project] once I’m in something. It would just completely take me out of the reality of it to see myself in there. So I won’t be watching [season five].”

The first series of Stranger Things premiered in 2016. The show focuses on a fictional town plagued with supernatural events that cause mayhem. Though we currently have no information on who Hamilton is playing and her role in the series, she was officially confirmed for season five before it started filming.

“I Zoomed [creators] Ross and Matt Duffer,” she said, “And they gave me the shape of the character, but not of the story. Because they have to be very careful with their story. So I still don’t know how it ends,” she said, “And it takes a lot of discipline to not know where it’s going to go. But that’s to protect it from all of the people that want to know.”

Most information about Stranger Things season five is being kept under strict lock and key, but we will follow up with more news when it becomes available.
