HELLO??? KPop Demon Hunters just got TWO freaking Oscar noms, and you are still sitting there scrolling like it’s a normal day?? Wake up, people. History is literally being made in real time.

Netflix’s most-watched animated movie EVER is headed to the 98th Academy Awards with nominations for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song (for the absolute BANGER “Golden”). It’s not the time to stay calm, and why should we be??? They have already won the damn GRAMMY for Best Compilation Soundtrack. Like, who else is doing it like them? Literally no one.

In all fairness, KPop Demon Hunters did not come to play… It came to dominate. It already swept the Critics’ Choice Awards. It already bodied the Golden Globes. And now, it’s kicking the Oscar door wide open like it’s freaking Wolverine. Meanwhile, the soundtrack is living its best life with five Grammy nominations and a whole win, thank you very much. That’s a full meal. Golden supremacy is real.

And the reactions? Director Maggie Kang was like, “Let me scream into a pillow real quick”, so she wouldn’t wake her family, while Chris Appelhans went full emoji meltdown. His kid was like, “Did you win a trophy??” And that was precisely the reaction of every KPop Demon Hunter fan who watched the movie at least thrice.

And EJAE??? Our queen who SANG her heart out as Rumi?? She is out here saying her life has done a full 180, and we believe it. Like, imagine moving to the US, dreaming of Billboard and ending up with a K-pop Grammy-Oscar power combo?? NAME A BETTER STORY.

Also, let’s not ignore the fact that this is a film rooted in Korean culture. And now it is not just being seen; it’s being celebrated. Maggie Kang literally said the proud reactions from Korean fans are what matter the most, and a lot of fans might be crying out there.

And can we talk about the awards trail real quick?? This movie has been eating since day one. Golden Globes? Yup. Critics Choice? Yup. Grammy? Yup. Annie Awards? TEN noms. Oscars? Checked. As we said, they didn’t come to compete… they are here to win.
